What We Employ
CDAE (Counter Drug Aviation Element) employs a LUH-72 (Lakota) an observation and utility helicopter equipped with advanced thermal infrared sensors, long and short range high resolution cameras that can provide a live video downlink to Ground Assets

The South Carolina National Guard Counterdrug Task Force – Aviation Element counters the narcotic terrorist threat by providing AERIAL RECONNAISSANCE of suspected drug production sites and transportation routes to support South Carolina and Federal LEAs in DETECTING, INTERDICTING, and DISRUPTING illicit drug trafficking activities.
Reaction Time
With the ability to respond to any situation within the state of South Carolina within two hours. This time frame gives Local and Federal LEA's the ability to utilize the Aviation Element for either day or night operations.
